More than a story, Alice in Wonderland is magic. Elements of it enter one’s unconsciousness and stay throughout life. Wandering into this uncanny world without a plan – through the looking glass, as Carroll said – I have toyed with the imagery of white rabbits and playing cards, arranging them in repeating patterns, but in no predetermined order, as a child might.
