Work Genealogies
Book design accompanying the Work Geneaologies exhibition at the Arsenal City Art Gallery in Poznań. The book explores the problems arising in the creative process by highlighting the context of the art history and its canons’ criteria. It focuses on specific operating modes – power of production, the domain of objects, their affirmation and negation. It consists of works by artists such as Agnieszka Brzeżańska, Magdalena Franczak, Agnieszka Grodzińska, Anna Okrasko along with critical texts, excerpts from novels, and essays.
The book design is based on the work of the Russian constructivist Varvara Stepanova. Except graphic design, composition and preparation for printing I also created several original illustrations for the book.
